WHAT OUR CLIENTS SAY ABOUT US

"I had the pleasure of meeting Jon Ackland in 1999 for some fitness testing. From there, we started working more and more closely together and have achieved everything we set out to do. Jon has played an integral part to my performance and success over the years, without his knowledge and expertise my resume would be substantially shorter. Jon takes high performance to a new level and his revolutionary ideas play a big part in the way I live my life and perform to the best of my ability."

Terenzo Bozzone - 5 x World Champion

"Jon Ackland gave me some great advice (all year he gave great advice but this was a gem) – he told me when I made the turn onto Alii Drive (which is the famous road where the finish line is positioned) he said no matter how the day had gone, or what time I was trying to achieve – to slow down and take it all in because that last 800m was what the last 5 months and race day had been about and he wanted me to absorb it and lock it in my memory.I did just that and it is very very hard to put into words the emotions at that point – relief, excitement, pride, exhaustion and disbelief."

"I'm meeting with Jon Ackland from PERFORMANCELAB for advice about the expedition. Jon is known as a high-performance coach for athletes, but really he is a chiropractor - he stiffens spines, straightens out heads and works the kinks out of logistics. He had been a big part of our win in the Atlantic race, so I'm back in his office in Birkenhead to get some more high-decibel, double-shot espresso advice".
Kevin Biggar - Excerpt from 'Escape To The Pole'

"Jon doesn't mind asking the hard questions. He gets you to think about what it is you are wanting to do and why you want to do it,
and then when thats out of the way he sets to and helps you achieve the goal with a very detailed plan that doesn't leave anything to chance. If you want someone to help you with not only plan A, but plan B and plan C, go see Jon.
'The 50 mtr rule'; ongoing thinking about the task, and 'nothing left to chance'; plan a b and c, is what makes Jon a successful coach and his clients successful, and its made me successful."

The Ironman Pack from Performance Lab is the most complete/thorough training package/program for Ironman triathletes I have seen.  After reviewing a number of program options in the United States I chose the one from Performance Lab.  From the first time you receive the book to the DVD, and CD’s the entire program projects high quality.  The book/binder, along with DVD and CDs give the athlete a number of options to thoroughly understand the training program given to him/her.
Ironman athletes typically don’t want to share their training secrets, but this is the exception.   Do yourself a favor and do the research like I did – I am confident you will come to the same conclusion that I did with the Ironman Pack.  The bar has been raised with Performance Lab’s Ironman Pack.

"I remain very grateful to you for getting me back to Kona after 15 years. I listened to your CDs as part of final race prep.

Had a ball out there in the lava fields - just cruised and really enjoyed the day.  Decided I had nothing to prove and that I didn't want to do any damage and just soaked up the experience.

Swam from the left and cruised with a bunch of others - pretty rough in terms of contact but not too bad.  If I was doing it again I would not recommend that strategy. I think in behind the fast guys on the pier side is better overall.

Cruised the bike. Couldn't get my heart rate up so decided to enjoy the ride and not toast myself. There had been a bit of illness in the house in the week prior so thought it better to finish than to detonate.  It was really windy up at Hawi. Had a vegemite sandwich and Gatorade lunch at 65 kmh coming back down hill.

It was hot on the run and I put a lot of effort into keeping cool, with ice under the hat and front and rear of my singlet. Walked the aid stations, and any other time I felt like it, although I was strong throughout. Watched the sun set from the top of Palani hill and then ran the last 2k to the finish.  Magic moment.

Am enjoying a break on Maui now. It has been a good year. Thanks again."

"Your talk resonated well with everyone and the feedback has been very positive. You provided much food for thought as we work on developing COMRAD and its people. The links to business from what you have learned in the sporting arena are very strong in many areas – effective leadership, getting and retaining the right people, the importance of culture and planning are key ingredients in both worlds, although in some cases the nuances and emphases are different.

I really enjoyed your presentation style. It was a good fit with our fireside chat approach to these events. I also thought the content was right on the mark.

The other aspect of your presentation that I thought was well considered was you allowed us to draw the links from what you were presenting to the business world. All too often sports people assume there’s a direct correlation to the business world when that’s not always the case".
